Textile art has been around for millennia. Making and decorating textiles is an ancient form of art. It is the process of creating textile using fibers gained from insects, plants, animals and synthetic materials. Textile pieces have been found dating back to prehistoric times. People back then developed textiles to warm themselves and protect surfaces, as well as for insulation.

Nowadays, the textile industry is one of the biggest in the world driving the fashion and design world. This technology has seen great development as well. 

Award-winning artist and designer, Benjamin Shine has established a multi-disciplined creative approach dedicated to challenging perceptions through original constructional ideas and craftsmanship. Benjamin's Tulle Flows are a continuous single length of flowing tulle, each conveying clarity out of chaos, hence the depiction of faces in states of peaceful meditation.

Cha Yun Sook & Hayeon creat their art works of a wide palette of handmade inks and further apply inks on Hanji paper and textile. These natural inks make use of ingredients from our natural environment and celebrate our connection with our natural habitat by dressing others in clothes dyed with ink imbued with healing properties meant to lift the wearer’s spirit. In their performance, Cha cuts, folds and sews pieces of fabric to drape over a model to create a one-of-a-kind piece, while Hayeon lays out patterns of «Flowers» over the performance space to recreate the beauty of nature.

Andre Maurice (1914-85), Roger Quillery (1914-91) and Emile Gilioli (1911-77) are French modern artists famous for they tapestries, woven at Aubusson Workshop in France.
